Grades K-5: 8:15 am – 3:15 pm
Grades 6-8: 8:15 am – 5:00 pm (Monday – Thursday), 3:15 pm (Friday)
Academic Programs: All Academies at The DePaul Catholic School follow the Archdiocesan and Common Core State Standards. All students are provided physical education, computer, Spanish, and art classes. Library skills are offered to grades K through 5.
Franciscan Academy: Students in grades K – 2 are members of The Franciscan Academy. The Academy draws inspiration from St. Francis of Assisi’s teachings of peace and reconciliation. In The Franciscan Academy, the school is committed to maintaining class sizes of no more than twenty-five students, with full-time aides in grades K and part-time aide in grade 1. Teachers are committed to individualizing instruction for each student in order to build a strong academic foundation. Additionally, qualified students may receive remedial reading as needed. Classes in the Franciscan Academy have opportunities to participate in service-learning within our local community.
Marillac Academy: Students in grades 3 – 5 are members of The Marillac Academy. This Academy draws inspiration from St. Louise de Marillac’s life of compassionate service, effective leadership and dedication to education. The teachers tailor the educational program to promote academic confidence. In The Marillac Academy, the school is committed to maintaining class sizes of no more than twenty-five students, with full-time reading and math resource teachers to provide greater individualized instruction. Service projects are integrated into the curriculum throughout the year.
Vincentian Academy: Students in Grades 6-8 are members of The Vincentian Academy. The Academy draws inspiration from St. Vincent de Paul, who dedicated his life to God by creating greater opportunities for those in need. The Vincentian Academy is a rigorous program that prepares its students to excel in challenging high school environments. Students are required to exhibit a strong academic commitment. In The Vincentian Academy, the school is committed to maintaining class sizes of no more than twenty students, with an extension of the school day in order to provide greater opportunities for individualized instruction and strengthening of skills. Service-learning is integral to the mission of The Vincentian Academy.
Out of School Time Program: Students in Grades K-5 may register for the OST Program, which provides supervised homework help and activities until 6:00 pm. Students in grades 6 – 8 may also register for the OST Program which provides leadership activities and training, a game room, and some sports activities. Hot Lunch Program: The DePaul Catholic School participates in the hot lunch program offered through the Nutritional Development Office of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Parents complete an application on line at www.COMPASS.STATE.PA.us or a paper application at the beginning of each school year. Eligibility for free or reduced meals is based on the family income.
Yellow School Bus Service: Students in Grades 1-6 who live at least 1.5 miles from The De Paul Catholic School may be eligible for free school bus service. Families must apply for this at the time of registration.
SEPTA Transpass: Free tranpasses are available to students in grades 7 – 8 who live at least 1.5 miles from school and qualify through the School District of Philadelphia Department of Transportation.
Athletics: At the present time The DePaul Catholic School has a cross country track team for girls and boys in grades 4 – 8; girls and boys basketball team for students in grades 6-8; as well as a track and field team for students in grades 4-8.
School/Gym Uniforms: Flynn & O’Hara is the official uniform company for The DePaul Catholic School.
