Dr. Kevin Kelly

Dr. Kelly is a pediatrician by training and I am committed to the health and well-being of children. He has always also had a special interest in the children of the poor and indigent. He is the owner of a solo, private, subspecialty practice in Willow Grove, but still also regularly sees patients of the indigent of North Philadelphia and the Northeast section of Philadelphia at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Dr. Kelly learned of the DePaul School gradually over time through my interactions with Pat McKenzie. Pat and one of his son’s have been close friends for many years. Dr. Kelly knew of his commitment to Campus Ministry and learned that he was working at the DePaul School in Germantown. Dr. Kelly was formally introduced when Pat invited him to a social reception for the faculty at DePaul, where he experienced personally how many other like minded individuals were also working at the school. He was very impressed with each of these young people. My thought was that they could all, most likely, be working in other, higher-paying jobs, but their choices to dedicate themselves to the mission of the DePaul School made a vivid impression on me. I was particularly moved that each of these young professionals had chosen this school. I decided then that I would like to try and support their exemplary efforts. Pat then approached me to consider a place on the Advisory Committee for the school and I was very excited to offer what ever help I could to Sister Cheryl and her faculty. I look forward to serving.
